Nitish Kumar To be bihar CM and Tejaswi yadav as Deputy CM
Nitish Kumar ended his alliance with the BJP over fears that Amit Shah wanted to split his party like in Maharashtra.

Mumbai: Nitish Kumar will be sworn in as Bihar’s chief minister at 2 pm today after quitting the BJP on Tuesday and announcing a new ‘Grand Alliance’ which includes Tejashwi Yadav and other opposition parties with. Tejaswi Yadav will be the Deputy CM.

“The Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) consisting of seven parties and one independent will work closely together,” Nitish Kumar said after his second meeting with the governor yesterday. In the first, he resigned as chief minister of the government formed by his party, the JDU, and the BJP.  Less than an hour later, he returned to the governor, accompanied by Tejashwi Yadav and other opposition leaders, to explain to him that they should be asked to form the next government based on their combined forces.

The BJP has accused Nitish Kumar of “betraying the mandate of the people” by switching partners mid-term.

Nitish Kumar felt that Amit Shah was trying to replicate the Maharashtra model in Bihar and ended the BJP alliance to prevent it. Uddhav Thackeray was forced to resign as Chief Minister after Eknath Shinde, a senior leader of his party, Shiv Sena, launched a massive uprising alongside the BJP.
