No CM or political leaders from other state will be invited for Kejriwal’s oath-taking ceremony

Kejriwal will be taking the oath in the presence of Delhi citizens who have reposed their faith in his leadership, said Gopal Rai

After winning massively in Delhi assembly polls Aam Adami party led by Arvind Kejriwal has decided that no chief minister or political leaders from other states will be invited in an oath-taking ceremony on Sunday. After a landslide victory in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal is all set to serve national capital the third time.

51-year-old will be sworn in at Ramlila Maidan in the heart of Delhi, three days after AAP’s sweep in the Delhi election with 62 of 70 assembly seats.

“No chief minister or political leader from other states will be invited for the oath-taking ceremony that is going to be specific to Delhi,” said AAP’s Delhi unit convener Gopal Rai

Kejriwal will be taking the oath in the presence of Delhi citizens who have reposed their faith in his leadership, said Gopal Rai.

AAP has invited “everyone in Delhi” to the oath-taking ceremony, Manish Sisodia, had said yesterday.

“Every individual from Delhi is invited to come and bless their son, their brother, Arvind Kejriwal and take an oath for a better Delhi,” said the top AAP leader at a press conference.

On the day of results, Kejriwal had said in his first words: “Dilliwalon, gazab kar diya aap logon ne (Delhi, you have done wonders). I love you!”

The AAP supremo is likely to start his third term with his old team. According to sources no new ministers are likely to be added to the Delhi cabinet, as speculation was made that new faces like Atishi and Raghav Chadha may be included this time.

On Tuesday, AAP has scored its second massive victory in the national capital, limiting the BJP to a single-digit score of 8 seats, which, however, is an improvement on its 2015 tally of three. On the other hand, the Congress, which ruled Delhi for 15 years till 2013, won zero seats.

Arvind Kejriwal had said AAP’s victory signals the victory of a “new kind of politics”, one based on work.
