Now Congress demands Bharat Ratna for Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru

In a letter to the Prime Minister, Manish Tiwari has said that Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev inspired an entire generation of patriots.

New Delhi| The Congress party has demanded Bharat Ratna-the highest civilian honour of the country for Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev for its significant contribution in the freedom movement. Party’s Lok Sabha MP Manish Tiwari has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking for this.

In a letter to the Prime Minister, Tiwari has said that Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev inspired an entire generation of patriots through their incredible resistance to British imperialism.

In a letter dated Friday, October 25, he said, “I want to draw your attention to the fact that Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev strongly opposed British imperialism and inspired the countrymen to protest. Then on March 23, 1931, the three made their highest sacrifice.

“If all three are awarded ‘Bharat Ratna’ on January 26, 2020, it would be like formally honouring them with the honour of ‘Shaheed-e-Azam,” the letter added.

Chandigarh Airport, located in Mohali, is also named Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Airport, Chandigarh (Mohali). This work will be in harmony with the emotions of 124 crore Indians and touch their hearts and souls. Earlier, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi had also said that Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev should be awarded Bharat Ratna.
