Objective of demonetisation was to help PM Modi’s friends: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi | Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday alleged that the main objective behind demonetisation was to help the crony capitalist i.e Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s friends.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Rahul Gandhi said, “Demonetisation was not a mistake, it was a deliberate move to help the crony capitalist friends of PM Modi. The RBI annual report proves that all his objectives failed. I want to state the real reason for demonetisation to everyone. PM Modi’s 10-15 capitalist friends were defaulters. He helped them to turn their black money into white”. Questioning PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi asked the former to answer to the citizen why the decision was taken and wrecked the economy.

Attacking the Narendra Modi government on Rafale deal, Gandhi said, “PM Modi is lying, India-France joint statement clearly states that the 36 aircrafts in question will be of the same configuration.” He alleged that there are clear facts that Anil Ambani has ₹45000Cr debt, he formed the company 10 days before the Rafale deal”. He further asked PM Modi to set up a Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Rafale deal.

The Congress President further accused “PM Modi had promised that black money, terror funding, and fake currency will be eradicated”. “However, there is a huge list of unfulfilled promises and lies. His words hold no meaning anymore,” he added.
