People are now questioning the BJP and its MLA: Akhilesh Yadav on ‘accident’ of Unnao rape victim

Lucknow | Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday after meeting Unnao rape case victim’s family has said that it is natural that people are now questioning BJP and their MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar.

The Samajwadi Party chief and former Chief Minister of the state Akhilesh Yadav went to meet the kin of Unnao rape victim at KGMU Trauma Centre in Lucknow and demanded an SIT probe under a sitting High Court Judge.

“We demand a probe in this entire matter by a SIT headed by a sitting High Court Judge. The state government is not helping the victim in the way they should, the incident took place due to laxity by police. The state government stands directly responsible for the incident. The victim is not getting justice even after the fact that our Prime Minister, Home Minister and Chief Minister all are from Uttar Pradesh. The police is speaking whatever the government wants. SIT should be constituted and probe must be done in the monitoring of a sitting High Court Judge”, he spoke outside to the media.

Akhilesh Yadav also announced a ₹10 lakh cheque to the family.

“In the event of Sonbhadra, the government was saying that Nehru was responsible for it and now for Unnao case they are claiming its Samajwadi Party. The owner of the truck (who crashed into the victim’s car) is now being named as an SP leader”, he said.

“The situation of UP prisons is known to everyone due to viral videos. Now the crime can be carried out from jail itself”, Akhilesh Yadav said, referencing jailed BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar who is a prime accused in the accident case.
