PM Modi launches BJP’s nationwide membership drive in Varanasi

Varanasi | Prime Minister Narendra Modi today on a day-long visit reached his parliamentary constituency Varanasi where he launched BJP’s nationwide membership drive.

PM Modi first unveiled the statue of former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri where was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, BJP working president JP Nadda, and Uttar Pradesh unit chief Mahendra Nath Pandey.

He then proceeded to launch a tree plantation campaign on the 118th birth anniversary of the founder of Bhartiya Jana Sangh, Syama Prasad Mookerjee.

Adressing the BJP workers in Varanasi, PM Modi said,” It is essential for all of you to understand what is meant by $5 trillion economy, not only because you need to explain it people but also to give it back to those who think India cannot achieve this goal.”

” There is a saying in English ‘size of the cake matters’, meaning, the bigger the cake, bigger the slice people will get. That is why we have goal of a $5 trillion dollar economy,” he added.

Earlier after the Lok Sabha results, PM Modi visited Varanasi on May 27 to thank the people for such a landmark victory.
