PM Modi slams Yechury over his name ‘Sita’ and ‘Ram’

Jhargam(West Bengal) | Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury by saying that is is disrespectful even to the one in his name ‘Sita’ and ‘Ram’.

Addressing a rally, PM Modi said, “He did not even respect the words in his name, ‘Sita-Ram,’ he insulted Ramayana and Mahabharata”.

Prime Minister Modi’s comments are regarding the remarks made by the communist leader earlier last week at an event.

Yechury had said, “Ramayana and Mahabharata are also filled with instances of violence and battles. Being a pracharak, you narrate the epics but still claim Hindus can’t be violent? What is the logic behind saying there is a religion which engages in violence and we Hindus don’t”.

This ignited a storm of retorts from BJP and the Shiv Sena.

Yoga Guru Ramdev has also filed an FIR against the leader.
