PM Modi thanks Pakistan PM Imran Khan for constructing Kartarpur Corridor

PM Modi thanked the labourers of Pakistan, who helped to complete the Kartarpur corridor on their side so fast. He was speaking on Saturday in Dera Baba Nanak of Punjab.

 

New Delhi| Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked Imran Khan for constructing the Kartarpur Corridor in a short time. He also thanked the labourers of Pakistan, who helped to complete the corridor on their side so fast. PM Modi was speaking on Saturday in Dera Baba Nanak of Punjab.

He said that it is his good fortune that I am dedicating the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor to the country today. “The feeling that you all have at the time of Kar service is the same. I congratulate all of you, the entire country, and the Sikh brothers and sisters around the world,” PM Modi said.

PM Modi said, “Before the 550th Prakash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the opening of the Integrated Check Post, Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, has doubled our happiness. Guru Nanak Dev Ji, not only the Inspiration of Sikhism but of the entire humanity.”

He further added that for the past 1 year, Guru Nanak Dev’s teachings have been promoted in the country and abroad through events like Kirtan, Katha, Prabhat Pheri, Langar. “Earlier, the 350th Prakash Utsav of Guru Gobind Singh ji was also celebrated with grandeur all over the world,” he said.

He also said that our guru tradition, saint tradition, sage tradition, have suggested ways to deal with the challenges in different periods. PM Modi stated, “Their paths were as meaningful then as they are today. Every saint, every guru has been urging towards national unity and national consciousness.”

PM Modi reached Dera Baba Nanak at around 11 am. Here, he inaugurated the Kartarpur corridor connecting the Sikhs’ pilgrimage site Gurudwara Darbar Sahib and India-based Dera Baba Nanak Sahib. Earlier, he reached Sultanpur Lodhi in Punjab. Here he bowed at the Ber Sahib Gurdwara. On the other hand, the first batch of Sikh devotees arrived from India to Pakistan’s Kartarpur Corridor.

In Dera Baba Nanak, Akali leader Sukhbir Badal, Union Minister Hardeep Puri, MP from Gurdaspur Sunny Deol welcomed Prime Minister Modi. Here Modi participated in the Bhajan-Kirtan. On the other hand, former Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu reached Kartarpur Corridor Terminal, from where he would first go to Pakistan to visit Kartarpur Sahib with the batch.
