Prashant applauded Congress for passing a resolution against CAA & NRC in a meeting of Congress Working Committee, its highest decision-making body.
New Delhi| Prashant Kishor, the member of Janata Dal(U) and close aide of Nitish Kumar, launched a fresh attack on its ally BJP stating that CAA will not be implemented in Bihar. In addition, he also thanked Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi “for their formal and unequivocal rejection of #CAA_NRC”.
Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizenship (NRC) have been the most controversial initiatives by the BJP-led central government. Nitish Kumar, who rolled back his position on the CAA after voting in its favor in parliament, has stayed silent regarding the NRC. Last month, the central government released a notification for National Population Register (NPR)- seen as the first step for NRC.

The congress passed the resolution against CAA and NRC in the CWC meeting. CWC is Congress’ highest decision-making body. Sonia Gandhi also called the NPR brought in by UPA as ‘benign’ compared to the current form of NPR.
Prashant Kishor gave a shoutout to Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi acknowledging their efforts to prevail over a section of Congress leaders falling for soft Hindutva. Sources say that this section of Congress leaders had wanted to maintain a neutral stance on the issue to keep the majority voters from getting upset.
I join my voice with all to thank #Congress leadership for their formal and unequivocal rejection of #CAA_NRC. Both @rahulgandhi & @priyankagandhi deserves special thanks for their efforts on this count.
Also would like to reassure to all – बिहार में CAA-NRC लागू नहीं होगा।
