New Delhi | For the first time in his five year tenure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed his first press conference today at their headquarters in New Delhi.
He addressed the conference with party chief Amit Shah.
“We have tried to reach a ground level with our hard work”, said Amit Shah, talking about party’s achievements in five years.
“People believe in the system of democracy now. We have gained success in every elections”, he said.
Talking about the Main Bhi Chowkidaar campaign, he said that it was coined by the people themselves, and not by the BJP leaders.
“We are absolutely sure of winning a majority again in these elections”, he added.
PM Modi in his turn to talk to the media said,” The people of the country have decided that our government will be formed. I hope that the new government will start functioning at the earliest”.
“It will happen after a long time in the country, our Government will come to power with an absolute majority for second consecutive time,” he said.
However, he did not answer any question.
When asked about BJP candidate Pragya Singh Thakur’s candidature, he dismissed and diverted the question to the party chief.
Amit Shah responded to the reporters who were asking questions to PM Modi, “I will answer your questions. It is not necessary for the Prime Minister to answer every question of yours”.
When asked about Mamata Banerjee and the recent violence, Amit Shah said that their 80 party workers have died in West Bengal and questioned that why does the violence not happen in any other state but only in Mamata Didi’s?
“It’s a matter of joy for us that the PM is here. People are excited and want another term for the PM”, said Amit Shah.
Today was the last day for campaigning for the Lok Sabha election. A total of 59 seats will go to poll in Phase 7 which is scheduled on May 19. The results of the 2019 Lok Sabha election will be declared on May 23.
