Rahul Gandhi skips birthday celebrations as AES death toll rises

New Delhi | In wake of the rising death toll of kids due to Acute encephalitis syndrome (AES) in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, Congress President Rahul Gandhi has decided to not celebrate his birthday.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi who turned 49 today reached the AICC headquarters early morning and meet the party workers and senior Congress leaders.

Earlier Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished good health and long life to Congress president Rahul Gandhi on his birthday. “Best wishes to Shri @RahulGandhi on his birthday. May he be blessed with good health and a long life,” he said in a tweet.

Congress president a 4-time Member of Parliament, lost the 2019 Lok Sabha election from Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi after emerging victorious from the same constituency from 2004. However, he won the Lok Sabha election from Kerala’s Wayanad.

Rahul Gandhi’s decision comes after126 childrens have died in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur due to Acute encephalitis syndrome (AES) since the beginning of the month.
