Raining Freebies In Delhi

Delhi

Adding to the slew of promises, AAP chief and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has announced free bus and metro concessions for male students if the party is voted back to power.

The AAP leader, addressing the media, said: “The AAP government gives maximum importance to education. Many unprivileged students miss out on education because they cannot afford to travel. If we form the government again, we will provide free bus services to male students, just like we currently offer for female students.”

Kejriwal further said, “Metro is the 50-50 venture of the Delhi government and the Central government. I have written a letter to the Prime Minister that students should be given a 50 per cent discount on the metro ticket. The expense that will come after giving the concession will be divided 50-50 between the Delhi government and the Central government.

This is an issue of public interest; there is no politics in it. I hope the PM will accept this,” Kejriwal said.

The former CM said, “Students in Delhi are heavily dependent on the metro for commuting to schools and colleges, making it crucial to reduce their financial burden.” Meanwhile, BJP national president JP Nadda today unveiled the party’s manifesto for the Delhi Elections.
