‘Ready To Be CM Face In 2024 Assembly Elections’: Maharashtra Congress Prez Nana Patole

Patole also said that Congress will fight the upcoming local body and assembly elections alone and is confident of “winning with a good number of seats.”

Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole on Monday said that he is ready to be the Chief Minister’s face for the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly Elections if ‘the high command decides’

“It is desire of farmers from Vidarbha district that son of the farmer should become next CM of Maharashtra, and they feel that being farmer’s son I should become CM.” said Patole in Mumbai.

Nana Patole, who switched from the BJP to Congress before the 2019 polls, was also the speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly from 2019 till 2021.

“I never asked for anything from the party. It was high command who trusted me and gave the responsibility of speaker later they only asked me to resign and take responsibility of state president.” he said.

Patole also said that Congress will fight the upcoming local body and assembly elections alone and is confident of “winning with a good number of seats.” Recently NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar had said that the MVA govt will complete its tenure and together MVA will fight all elections and perform better.

Reacting to this Patole said, “Pawar must have said that regarding his party, as I told you we have taken the decision about going solo in all local body and assembly elections.”
