RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Sangh leaders joins Twitter

Nagpur | Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat along with 6 other top RSS leaders have made their debut on micro-blogging site Twitter in order to connect with the younger audience.

Bhagwat along with RSS general secretary Suresh “Bhaiyyaji” Joshi, Joint general secretaries Suresh Soni, Krishna Gopal, V Bhagaiah, Publicity head Arun Kumar and senior functionary Anirudh Deshpande have joined Twitter.

According to RSS sources, “The accounts have been created to stop the spread of misinformation by parody accounts of the Sangh’s office bearers. But they are unlikely to use it.” Sources further added that the RSS functionaries are unlikely to use Twitter as the microblogging website is not the platform where the RSS would like to engage in a dialogue with the public.

The 95-year-old RSS has however joined the microblogging site in 2011 and has over 1.3 million followers, which is usually used by the organisation for releasing statements and updates.
