RSS considers PM Modi as ‘Scorpion on Shivling’: Shashi Tharoor

Bengaluru | Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Sunday sparked controversy when he claimed that BJP’s political ideologue Rashtriya Syamsevak Sangh (RSS) considers Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a ‘Scorpion on a Shivling.’

Speaking at the Bangalore Literature Festival, Tharoor said,”There’s an extraordinarily striking metaphor expressed by an unnamed RSS source to a journalist, that, “Modi is like a scorpion sitting on a Shivling, you can’t remove him with your hand & you cannot hit it with a chappal either.”

Tharoor was speaking about his recently launched book ‘The Paradoxical Prime Minister” based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Congress leader coined the term ‘Moditva’ i.e Modi plus Hindutva responsible for the reason behind PM Modi rise above RSS. He further added that that ‘personality cult’ of the PM Modi did not sit well with a lot of people in the RSS. While few people in the RSS has found it ‘extremely difficult’ to curb PM Modi,” he added.
