RSS will disown its volunteers if found involved in mob-lynching, says Mohan Bhagwat

Mohan Bhagwat even said that if any of their volunteers are found guilty in mob lynching incidents, the organization will disown them.

New Delhi| On Tuesday RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said the fear of losing land and jobs among people of Jammu and Kashmir will subside and also said that the abrogation of Article 370 will help integrate Kashmiris with the rest of the country.

Mohan Bhagwat was interacting with foreign journalists. The RSS chief claimed that Kashmiris were earlier “alienated” but the abrogation of Article 370 will remove the barriers that existed between state and the rest of the nation.

For decades Kashmiris have defended Article 370 fearing that its removal will lead to “outsiders” buying their land. Responding to it, Bhagwat said, “Whatever fears they have about losing land and jobs should be allayed.”

He also spoke of the controversial National Registrar of Citizens exercise in Assam. He said that NRC is not about expelling people but about identifying the citizens. He also reiterated that there is no place for Hindus in the world except India.

The Indian apex court last year decriminalized Homosexuality. When asked about the organization’s views on homosexuality, Bhagwat said that it is not something “abnormal”. He said it’s a “variation” and not an “abnormality”. “They should be treated as equal human beings and integrated into society,” said RSS chief.

Bhagwat also spoke about the mob-lynching incidents that saw a spike in the last few years. He stated that the RSS condemns all forms of violence. He also said that RSS volunteers should try to stop incidents of Mob-lynching. Bhagwat even said that if any of their volunteers are found in such incidents, the organization will disown them. “If a swayamsevak is found guilty, we will disown him and the law should follow its own course,” he said.
