New Delhi | Samajwadi Party today announced its 1st list of candidates for the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha election.
Samajwadi Party who is contesting the Lok Sabha election in Uttar Pradesh in alliance with Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Ajit Singh’s Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) in its 1st list has announced candidates on 6 seats. In a released statement, the party announced that former Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav will be contesting from the Mainpuri constituency.
The other candidates include Dharmendra Yadav from Badayu, Akshay Yadav from Firozabad constituency, Kamlesh Kothari from Itawa, Bhailal Kaul from Robertsganj and Shabir Walmiki from Baraich constituency.

BSP chief Mayawati and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav Saturday earlier had announced their alliance in Uttar Pradesh for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, sharing 38 seats each out of the state’s 80 parliamentary constituencies. Later Ajit Singh’s RLD joined the alliance and the seat-sharing formula changed as Samajwadi Party will contest on 37 seats, Bahujan Samaj Party on 38 and RLD to contest of 3 seats of Baghpat, Mathura and Muzaffarnagar.
The parties had kept the Congress out of the alliance but said they will not field candidates in Amethi and Rae Bareli, represented by Congress president Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
