Sambit Patra will answer why PM Modi hasn’t conducted a single Press Conference, says Amit Shah

When asked by the reporters, Amit Shah tried to evade the question by replying that party spokesperson Sambit Patra will respond to this question.

New Delhi| Prime Minister Narendra Modi not holding a single press conference in last four years was time and again raised by the Congress party and its top leadership. Recently, after a press interaction in Telangana ahead of the assembly polls Rahul Gandhi tweeted highlighting the fact that PM has not conducted even one Press Conference.

However, things got little interesting when BJP President Amit Shah was asked the reason of the same earlier today in a press conference. When asked by the reporters, Amit Shah tried to evade the question by replying that party spokesperson Sambit Patra will respond to this question.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi had also challenged PM Modi to hold a press interaction saying that it is nice to have questions thrown at you. Unsatisfied with the response of Amit Shah, the reporters insisted for an answer. However, Amit Shah shrugged off the question and said, “The party will respond to this, why are you worrying?”

Congress was quick to take a jibe at BJP over the incident. Congress spokesman Randeep Surjewala commenting on Shah’s reply said, “Shah’s statement is an insult to the right to ask questions of the media. It shows the dictatorial attitude of the Modi government. ”

He further said that the Modi and Shah have so much arrogance of power that they have begun to think themselves above democracy and accountability towards the people of India.
