Satya Pal Malik says 50,000 jobs will be available in J&K over next 3 months

Srinagar | Governor Satya Pal Malik Wednesday said 50,000 jobs will be available over the next three months as part of a large recruitment drive.

He said the Centre will be making a “huge” announcement on Jammu and Kashmir.

He assured that the restrictions placed after the revocation of the state’s special status under Article 370 were necessary to prevent any civilian casualties. Malik said that normalcy will soon return to the Valley.

Malik admitted that pellet guns were used during protests in the Valley but said forces took utmost precaution to prevent any injuries. He said most of the pellet injuries were below the waist.

Speaking about communication freedom, the Governor said that internet is a handy tool for anti-national elements and the restoration of connections will be postponed for some more time.
Referring to the rumours that he is in talks with former Chief Ministers Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah who are currently detained, he refuted the claims. He said,“Don’t be sad about detention of political leaders, it will help them in their political careers.”
Later in the day, mobile phone calling was being restored in the border district of Rajouri. “The mobile phone calling of all cellular operators will be restored in next one to two hours,” said Rajouri SSP Yougal Manhas, barely hours after the Governor’s presser.
