The Supreme Court has declared Congress-AAP’s Kuldeep Kumar as the winner of the Chandigarh Mayor election, overturning the returning officer’s results. The Court ruled that 20 votes favoured Kumar while 16 supported the BJP. The Supreme Court said that it was evident that the presiding officer made a deliberate attempt to deface 8 ballot papers and ordered the prosecution of the returning officer for illegally altering the process.
