Senior CPI leader dies in Odisha after prolonged illness

Berhampur | Senior CPI leader and former Odisha MLA Parsuram Panda passed away at his residence in Ganjam district after a prolonged illness, family sources said on Sunday. He was 86.

Panda is survived by his wife, two sons and three daughters, they said. The senior leader had been ailing for quite sometime, died at his residence in Chikalakhandi on Saturday.

The CPI leader had represented Chhatrapur constituency in Ganjam district in the state Assembly from 1990 to 1995. He was also the sarapanch of Chikalakhandi panchayat for three times. Leaders of different political parties and people from various walks of life have condoled his demise.
