NCP workers are likely to stage a protest outside the ED office ahead of the visit of Sharad Pawar.
Mumbai: NCP Chief will visit ED office on Friday as police have imposed prohibitory orders outside the Enforcement Directorate’s office at Ballard Pier and in other areas of south Mumbai.
On September 24, Enforcement Directorate registered a case on NCP chief Sharad Pawar for his alleged involvement in the money-laundering case in connection with a scam at Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank. Reacting to the case, Pawar had said that he will visit the ED office on Friday, even though he has not been summoned yet.
Meanwhile, NCP workers are staging protest in various parts of in Mumbai, especially outside the ED office. On Friday, the police prohibited the movement of groups of people under section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

The police said in late-night communication that prohibitory orders have also been imposed under the jurisdictions of Colaba, Cuffe Parade, Marine Drive, Dongri, Azad Maidan, J J Marg, and MRA Marg police stations.
Sharad Pawar has appealed party workers not to gather outside the ED office. “As mentioned during my press conference yesterday, I will be visiting the Mumbai ED office at Ballard Estate tomorrow, Friday 27 September, at 14.00 hrs,” said Pawar.
“I appeal have appealed my NCP cadre and supporters not to gather near the ED office premises,” said Pawar.
