Patna | Rebel Bhartiya Janata Party(BJP) MP Shatrughan Sinha is reportedly all set to join the Congress party on March 28 at noon.
Bihar Congress campaign committee chairman and Rajya Sabha member Akhilesh Prasad Singh on Tuesday announced to the reporters, “He will either join on March 28 or 29” at Patna airport.
The two time Lok Sabha MP is likely to be contesting from the Patna Sahib constituency, directly opposing Union Minister and senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad.
This announcement puts a rest to the rumours that Sinha was speculated to join Congress after he was dropped from NDA’s Bihar Lok Sabha seat.
Sinha has been vocal about his criticisms and disagreements with the party, constantly attacking party’s decisions like demonetisation, farm distress, unemployment and allegations of corruption in Rafale deal.
He also participated in the two major opposition rally held in Kolkata and New Delhi.
The MP has still not officially left Bhartiya Janata Party(BJP).
It is likely that Sinha will join Congress in the presence of its chief, Rahul Gandhi.
