Shatrughan Sinha thinks Priyanka Gandhi ‘is apt’ for becoming Congress President

New Delhi | Congress leader Shatrughan Sinha has lauded Priyanka Gandhi for her recent show of protest in Sonbhadra against the BJP government, and has called her “apt for being party leader”.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who last week protested against the ruling government of Uttar Pradesh in Sonbhadra where 10 were killed due to an internal land dispute, has received a lot of praises.

Calling her bold and dynamic, the former Patna Sahib MP wrote on Twitter,” Yesterday/day before the timely involvement by the most popular, bold, dynamic leader of Congress Priyanka Gandhi for Sonbhadra Massacre was reminiscent of the late & great Madam Gandhi. During her Belchi days, she had travelled on an Elephant. Priyanka broached everything with determination, commitment & courted arrest with a smile. Her being in custody was uncalled for”.

He also wrote that she had “displayed tremendous composure” in the circumstances.

“It’s my humble appeal that she would be apt as the party President to lead ahead. It will be a shot in the arm, a booster for the Congress party in particular & political parties in general. She is a role model of a true dedicated leader. Other political parties should learn & follow her too.”, Shatrughan Sinha appealed on Twitter.

Ever since Rahul Gandhi had resigned from the post of party leadership taking responsibility for the massive defeat in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, speculations are circulating all around on who will be the next Congress President.

Rahul Gandhi, however, had claimed that the new President will not be Gandhi member, the party members are insisting on having Priyanka Gandhi become the chief.
