“Shinde Doesn’t Have Majority”: Supriya Sule On Maharashtra Political Crisis

The Shiv Sena has claimed that they have been in discussion with 17 MLAs who are not in favor of rebel leader Eknath Shinde’s plan.

Mumbai: NCP leader and daughter of veteran politician Sharad Pawar- Supriya Sule – today said there has to be a discussion with the rebel camp which has precipitated the massive political crisis in Maharashtra.

She further said, “I have limited information, from the best of my knowledge Eknath Shinde has the support of  50 MLAs, and for Maharashtra Assembly, you need 144. So he doesn’t have a majority.”

“Deepak Kesarkar and Uday Samant were in NCP earlier, we never had bitneers against them. We will never speak against someone we had meals together”, Supriya Sule added.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has urged the rebel MLAs to get in touch with him once they return to Mumbai.

The Sena has claimed that they have been in discussion with 17 MLAs who are not in favor of rebel leader Eknath Shinde’s plans to ally with the BJP and rule Maharashtra.

“Many of you are in touch with us… and you are Shiv Sena at heart. Let’s talk, we’ll find a way,” Mr. Thackeray’s open letter read to the rebels who are staying at a luxury hotel in Guwahati.

Mr. Shinde while interacting with the media said today that he and the other MLAs will return to Mumbai soon and that he will reach out to the Governor.
