Shinde Sena’s Uday Samant’s Car Attacked By Thackeray Loyalists In Pune

A video of a mob trying to surround Uday Samant’s vehicle and shouting slogans is making rounds on social media.

Former Maharashtra minister Uday Samant’s car was allegedly attacked on Tuesday by a few Shiv Sainiks near the Katraj Chowk in Pune. The incident took place a few moments after a meeting of Shiv Sena leader and Shiv Sena scion Aditya Thackeray was convened near Katraj Chowk in Pune.

Uday Samant’s convoy was passing near the event location. Shiv Sainiks allegedly saw his car and started sloganeering. A few of them hit and broke the glass of the car. Samant, one of the 40 rebel Shiv Sena MLAs in Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s faction, was going to attend an event.

After the alleged attack, Samant went to Kothrud to file a police complaint. “A few Shiv Sainiks attacked my car and the police need to find the attackers who were carrying sticks and stones,” India Today quoted Mr. Samant.

“It is not human nature to run away with such cowardly attacks and stone pelting. So everyone should maintain law and order. It is our responsibility that all the rules are followed. If anyone tries to disturb the law and order, strict action will be taken against them, “Shiv Minister Eknath Shinde said.

The incident comes a day ahead of the crucial Supreme court hearing which was expected to be heard on Monday but was later postponed to Wednesday. A bench comprising Chief Justice N V Ramana and justices Krishna Murari and Hima Kohli will hear the plea. senior advocate Kapil Sibal will represent the Thackeray faction.
