Shiv Sena demands deputy speaker post in Lok Sabha

New Delhi | BJP’s ally Shiv Sena after receiving just a single cabinet berth has demanded the post of deputy speaker post in the lower house of the parliament.

Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut responding the demand said, “Shiv Sena is demanding the post rather it has a natural claim on the post and it has to get it.” Raut further added that the single cabinet berth for the party is disproportionate as Shiv Sena has 18 Lok Sabha and 3 Rajya Sabha members.

Raut also said that the party wants more meaningful ministry for its MPs. Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant is been allocated the Ministry of Heavy Industries in the Narendra Modi cabinet.

According to sources, Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray has conveyed to BJP President and Union Home Minister that the party wants a deputy Lok Sabha post along with larger representation in the Union Cabinet.
