Shiv Sena hits back at PM Modi over statement on Ram Temple

New Delhi | Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) ally in the NDA, Shiv Sena on Wednesday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his statement over the construction of Ram Temple.

Speaking to media, Shiv Sena spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said,” We don’t need PM to tell us that matter is in court. If that’s what we wanted, what was the need for the movement? Karsevaks martyred, bomb blasts in Mumbai, riots; it was genocide on Ram temple’s name, who’s responsible? You formed govt on this issue, don’t forget that.”

EarlierPrime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday in an interview to News Agency ANI said that ordinance on Ram Temple can be considered only after legal process gets over. He said, “Let the judicial process be over. After the judicial process is over whatever will be our responsibility as the government we are ready to make all efforts”.”We have said in our BJP manifesto that a solution would be found to this issue under the ambit of the Constitution,” he added.

The Supreme Court on 29 October adjourned the hearing of the decade-old Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute till January 2019. The top court bench including Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice SK Kaul and Justice M Joseph has postponed the matter till January 2019 to fix the date of hearing in the Ayodhya title suit. The bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said, “It will come up in the first week of January not for hearing but for deciding the date of the hearing. The hearing may be in January, February, March, whenever….also the bench by which it shall be heard will be constituted.
