The bungalow over which former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was accused of theft of spout and the bungalow over which Mulayam Singh had reached CM Yogi’s office to meet him, has now come back in the news. There had been a lot of political mudslinging over the former CM vacating the bungalow over three years back. After three and a half years, once again the same bungalow has raised the political temperature in poll-bound state. The cleaning and repair work of Akhilesh and Mulayam’s bungalow on Vikramaditya Marg has started, Dainik Bhaskar reported. However, the Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, Lucknow, issued a press release and said that the cleaning work of these houses is done as per requirement from time to time.
Before the election results, the property department of the UP government is getting the repair and cleaning of both the bungalows done, which were closed for 3 years and 8 months. The interesting thing is that the charge of the state property department is with the ACS of CM Yogi. These developments are now being seen as a sign of change in the corridors of power.
Bungalow numbers 4 and 5, located on Lucknow’s Vikramaditya Marg, were allotted to former chief ministers Akhilesh and Mulayam Singh. They were vacated in June 2018 following the order of the Supreme Court. These were not allotted to anyone since 3 years 8 months. Due to this, bushes had grown everywhere. The officials of the State Property Department have started the work of repair and cleaning inside by closing the gate from outside.
Fittings are also being replaced along with plaster on the walls and ceilings of number 5 bungalow. Anti-termite (anti-termite) treatment is being done. Glasses have been replaced. Inside premise has also been cleaned twice. The trucks of the corporation are being taken out secretly carrying the garbage.
A 60,000 sq ft luxurious bungalow was prepared for Akhilesh Yadav when he was the CM. The property is located in the posh area Vikramaditya Marg of Lucknow. Akhilesh left his father’s house and shifted to this bungalow with his family. When the government changed in the state, the law also changed. Government bungalows of half a dozen former Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh were vacated after the order of the Supreme Court.
This included former CM Akhilesh and Mulayam Singh’s Bungalow. Mulayam Singh also sought time to meet the CM, but did not get it. After this both of them had vacated the bungalow. However, the BJP had targeted Akhilesh Yadav a lot about the vandalism that took place while vacating the bungalow and called him even a spout thief.
