Sonia Gandhi sends a thank you note to BJP minister Nitin Gadkari

While the former Congress President and currently UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi has been shooting off letters to different ministers so as to make things work in her constituency, she started off sending her first thank-you letter to Nitin Gadkari. She did so to thank the Union Minister in the Modi government for responding in positive terms to her request.

It was on 10 August this year that Sonia Gandhi wrote to Nitin Gadkari who is the Minister of Road Transport, Highways and Shipping, conveying her thanks for his “positive response” to the concerns related to the roads that she had raised in the constituency. She had written to Gadkari earlier in March drawing his attention to the plans of the government for the four-laning of NH-330A, off the district of Faizabad.

Five months after, Gadkari writing back to her, on 20 July 2018, saying that he got her request examined quite closely and deployed technical experts to gauge the possibilities of the four-laning for the area of Raebareli. He elucidated that how virtually all the expanses requested by her were eligible for four-laning taking into consideration the flow of the traffic.

This communication invoked a thank you note from Gandhi who had also expressed her hope that he will accelerate the process of fourlaning for the highways.

On the other hand, officials in her office stated this to be a rare instance, taking into consideration her constituency’s works.
