New Delhi | Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala dismissed the rumours about a rift between Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his Deputy, Sachin Pilot.
“On the behalf of the Congress party, I would like to reject the misleading news of any differences between Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot,” Surjewala told ANI.
“The Chief Minister, in an interview, categorically said, the responsibility of the loss in Rajasthan during the Lok Sabha polls is both of the organisation and the government”, he added.
He also accused the media of spreading misinformation.
Congress entered the damage control after CM Ashok Gehlot had said in an interview with a news channel that Sachin Pilot was absolutely confident of his son’s (Vaibhav Gehlot) victory so therefore he should take responsibility and apologise.
Vaibhav Gehlot lost to BJP leader Gajendra Singh Shekhawat from Jodhpur by over 3 lakh votes.
Meanwhile, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi had reproved Ashok Gehlot for paying more attention to his son’s election campaign than the state.
