Tamil Nadu: DMK demand CM Palaniswami’s resignation after Lok Sabha loss

Chennai | Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) today demanded Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Palaniswami’s resignation after AIADMK’s poor performance in the Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu.

Speaking to media DMK leader and MP from Chennai Central Dayanidhi Maran said,” Edappadi K Palaniswami must take moral responsibility for the defeat of AIADMK in Lok Sabha elections, the party managed to win on one seat in general elections because of money power. Palaniswami must tender his resignation.”

Out of the results declared in the 38 seats in Tamil Nadu, AIADMK managed to win just 1 seat of Theni from where Raveendranth Kumar won against Congress candidate Elangovan E.V.K.S by a margin of 76693 votes. DMK-Congress alliance won 31 out of the 38 seats in Tamil Nadu, the Congress party won 8 seats while DMK won 23 seats.
