Telangana: KCR to announce assembly dissolution for early election

Hyderabad | K Chandrashekar Rao government is likely to dissolve the Telangana assembly on Sunday in order to hold assembly election later this year along with Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhatisgarh.

According to sources, Telangana Rashtriya Samiti chief and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will be taking some key decision in the cabinet meeting ahead of one the largest rally of a political party organised in a 2,000 acres of land at the Pragathi Nivedhana Sabha – in Ranga Reddy. The Cabinet is expected to pass a resolution to dissolve the assembly and pass the recommendation to Governor ESL Narasimhan. After the clearance from Election Commission, the election may be conducted in December along with the elections in three other states.

When asked about the meeting Rao’s son and number two in Telangana Government, KT Rama Rao told media,” You can expect important political announcements by our party leader. And after this meeting, political climate in the state will most certainly heat up.” TRS will also be submitting its reports card on September 2 i.e the 4th anniversary of the formation of Telangana state.

TRS wants to prepone the election by six months inorder to avoid the simultaneous elections to the Assembly and the Parliament. Rao’s recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh have triggered the speculations of early elections.

Meanwhile, a special summary revision of electoral rolls was ordered in all 119 constituencies in Telangana on Saturday. Speaking on the development Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar said that the process would begin from September 1 itself and would be completed by November 30.
