New Delhi: Chief Minister of Maharashtra UddhavThackeray on Friday meets Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Delhi. After meeting, PM Modi Thackeray held a press conference in which he discussed the state issues
Thackeray said “We discussed the Citizenship Amendment Act, National Registration of Citizens, and National Population Register. I have made my stand clear on these issues and there is no need to fear the CAA. The oppressed minorities will be benefitted and the central government has said NRC will not be implemented across India. If we see any dangers befalling the citizens, our government will oppose it then,”.
NCP chief Sharad Pawar had said on Tuesday they will discuss the matter with Uddhav Thackeray’s party and bring it on the same page. “We will convince the ShivSena,”.
On Friday, speaking to media after his meeting with PM Modi, Thackeray played down the differences between the parties and the alliance will last its full five-year term.
“We have made up our minds and our alliance is following the Common Minimum Programme. There is no problem,” Thackeray said.
The ShivSena leader is also expected to meet Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi, BJP veteran leader LK Advani and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi.
Thackeray said: “(There’s) No friction among allies, we are going to run Maharashtra government for 5 years.”
