Trump Responds To Criticism, Says Obama Was “Grossly Incompetent”

On Saturday, Obama had criticized the Republican leadership saying they are not “even pretending” to be in charge and asking the wrong questions.

Washington| US President Donald Trump, reacting to the Former President Barack Obama’s criticism of Trump Administration in the handling of Covid-19, said his predecessor Barack Obama was a “grossly incompetent President”.

“He was an incompetent president, a grossly incompetent president. That’s all I can say,” Trump told reporters after he reached White House.

On Saturday, the Former President had criticized the Republican leadership saying they are not “even pretending” to be in charge and asking the wrong questions. Obama was addressing a twin commencement in a speech to high school graduates of 74 historically black colleges and universities across the United States.

“More than anything, this pandemic has fully, finally torn back the curtain on the idea that so many of the folks in charge know what they’re doing,” the first African-American President said on Saturday.

“A lot of them aren’t even pretending to be in charge,” he further added.

Though Obama did not mention the name of President Trump, the remarks echoed criticism of Trump administration that Obama had also leveled in a video last month when he endorsed the fellow democrat and VP in his administration, Joe Biden.

In that video, he had said the pandemic has shown that “having leaders who are informed and honest and seek to bring people together” matters.
