“TV media houses, Journalists are like Mumbai Red Light Area” says DMK’s R S Bharati

Our leader Stalin came to know and he has asked me to apologies and I also realized that it was a mistake. So I express regret,” he added

Chennai: DMK MP R.S. Bharti on Tuesday made a controversial statement after he compared TV media houses and journalists to the ‘Mumbai Red Light area’ and alleged that their main motive was money.

Bharathi has apologized for his statement after being prompted by DMK Chief MK Stalin to do so, though he said he had “made a fair comment” while speaking on the party employing political strategist Prashant Kishor.

According to sources, a video went viral on Monday in which DMK MPs are heard questioning that their party has hired Prashant Kishore, but the media deliberately discusses Stalin and his family going to religious places. Why has the media made it a matter of discussion?

The DMK has hired Prashant Kishore’s Indian Political Action Committee for the next year’s assembly polls in Tamil Nadu so that his campaign can be held in the elections.

In this video, Bharti is heard saying that PM Modi and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal also took service of Prashant Kishore, but they questioned why the media did not discuss it at that time.

They are heard in the video saying that TV channels are raising the issue of Prashant Kishor’s involvement in frustration. Attacking the media house, they alleged that their main motive is money and they are “running like the Red Light area of Mumbai”.

“I gave a fair comment that this looked like the act of some people working in the red light area. But my intention is not to hurt anyone, any media house, he said.

Our leader Stalin came to know and he has asked me to apologies and I also realized that it was a mistake. So I express regret,” he added.
