“In the Meeting Uddhav Thackeray has been unanimously chosen Chief Minister candidate by the panel,” said NCP chief Sharad Pawar
Mumbai: On Friday the three parties fast-tracked the process for forming the government in the Maharashtra, where poll results were announced nearly a month ago.
Maharashtra has been facing a political crisis after the ShivSena broke its three-decade-long ties with the BJP after the latter declined to share the chief minister’s post. The BJP and the Sena, which fought the Assembly polls in an alliance, had secured a comfortable majority by winning 105 and 56 seats, respectively, in the 288-member Assembly.
NCP chief Sharad Pawar said, “Tomorrow a press conference will be held by the three parties. Discussions will continue. Tomorrow we will also decide when to approach the Governor.”
Meanwhile, Congress says, “We will most likely go to the governor tomorrow too. Also, another round of meetings will be held when with Sonia Gandhi to finalize portfolios for the Congress MLAs.” The three parties will hold a joint press conference tomorrow.
Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray says, “We have decided on the future course of Maharashtra.”
“In the Meeting Uddhav Thackeray has been unanimously chosen Chief Minister candidate by the panel,” said NCP chief Sharad Pawar.
Now it up to Uddhav Thackeray whether he will accept the position of Chief Minister in Maharastra.
