UPA Inherited Healthy Economy, Left It In Crisis: Government’s White Paper

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented a ‘White Paper on India Economy’ in Parliament comparing UPA and NDA management. The report asserts UPA inherited a strong economy in 2004 but left it in crisis by 2014 when NDA took over amid fiscal issues, economic mismanagement, indiscipline and corruption. It argues that the NDA faced an emergency situation requiring tough reforms to stabilize a fragile, publicly financed economy after 10 years of poor governance under the previous regime.
