“50 hours non-stop dharna by Opposition MPs. 21 hours done. 29 hours to go. Revoke suspension of 24 MPs. Discus #PriceRise” said, Derek O’Brien.

The 50-hour long day-night protest by Opposition parties demanding to revoke the suspension of the suspended MPs continued on Thursday at the Gandhi statue on the Parliament premises. The Centre on Wednesday said the suspension of Opposition MPs can be revoked by the Chair if they apologize and assure they would not show placards in the House.

The protesting MPs had requested a tent but it was denied by the authorities as no structure can be built inside the premises. They have been, however, allowed to use the toilet in the bathroom of the Parliamentary library.

While the Grand Old Party and other Opposition parties were protesting at different venues in the morning, by the evening, it seemed they had come together on the issue of price hikes. Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh visited the site of the protests and said his party will be part of the day-night dharna organized by the other Opposition parties.

The breakfast and lunch were arranged by the DMK and the dinner was organized by the TMC.
