Significantly, the Corridor is one of the holy places for Sikhs. This is because the Sikh religious leader, Guru Nanak, spent 17 years, 7 months and 9 days of his life here. He settled there with the family and his parents also died here. From the Indian side, devotees stand on the border and see it through binoculars. Last year, the Kartarpur corridor came into the limelight when its path was prepared for the Sikhs. According to Pakistan, centres have been established here for the arrival of 5000 Sikh travellers from India.
