Khargaon (Madhya Pradesh) | PM Modi breaks his silence on Pragya Thakur’s row on Nathuram Godse, and said that he will never be able to forgive her.
Speaking to a news channel after his election rally, PM Modi said,” This is a terrible statement, and worth criticising. This kind of language should not be spoken in a civilised society”.
He said that anyone who wants to speak in this manner should reconsider it a hundred times.
“It is worth every condemnation. Even if she now has apologised for it, I can never forgive her from my heart”, he said.
BJP’s Bhopal Lok Sabha candidate and Malegaon blast accused Pragya Singh Thakur on Thursday lauded Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse as a “patriot”, sparking outrage.
BJP distanced themselves from her statement and asked her to apologise.
BJP Chief Amit Shah said they are personal statements, not party’s views.
Following the remark, she apologised later, however, is still facing disapproval.
