Ajit Pawar said that his Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will stand by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government and CM Uddhav Thackeray till the end.

Amid the political crisis unfolding in the Western state of Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that his Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will stand by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government and CM Uddhav Thackeray till the end.

“We will support MVA, we will support Uddhav Thackeray. Our [NCP] MLAs are with us. We are keeping an eye on the current political situation,” the NCP leader said, addressing the media.

Ajit Pawar, when questioned about allegations of corruption raised by the rebel camp led by Eknath Shinde, said the allegations are false and funds were provided to the ministers.

“There are MLAs of Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena in ministerial posts. Ministers were decided with the consent of all,” the Maharashtra deputy CM said.

Reacting to Sanjay Raut’s comments on Shiv Sena leaving MVA, Ajit Pawar said: “It is the responsibility of all the three parties [NCP, Congress and Shiv Sena] to save the government. Only Sanjay Raut knows why he made such a statement.”

Mr. Parab reached the Enforcement Directorate’s office at Ballard Estate in south Mumbai around 2.45 pm, an official said.

The Enforcement Directorate has been quizzing him in the money laundering probe linked to the alleged violation of coastal regulation zone provisions in the construction of Sai resort in the Dapoli beach area of Maharashtra’s Ratnagiri district, he said.

Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate had questioned Mr. Parab for more than six hours on Wednesday and over 10 hours on Tuesday.

Mr. Parab, 57, who is a three-time member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council holds the transport and parliamentary affairs portfolios.

The Enforcement Directorate had raided his premises and those allegedly linked to him in May, after registering a fresh case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) against him and others. However, the Shiv Sena leader denied the allegations.
