SC Stays Arrest Of Ex-IAS Trainee Puja Khedkar In UPSC Cheating Case

Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered a stay on the arrest of former IAS officer Puja Khedkar, accused of fraudulently appearing for the UPSC civil service examination 2022.

UPSC had cancelled Puja Khedkar’s candidature from IAS, debarring her from all future selections.

The top court notified the Delhi Police and the UPSC regarding Puja Khedkar’s plea for anticipatory bail and directed the protection to operate until the next hearing date.

Justices B V Nagarathna and Satish Chandra Sharma posted the matter for further hearing on February 14 and ordered that no coercive action be taken against her.

To avail the reservation benefit, Khedkar misrepresented information about herself in the application for the UPSC civil services exam. She had rejected all the allegations against her.
