He was also arrested by NIA last year in terror funding case, later bailed out.

Rajouri: Separatist leader and close associate of Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani, Devinder Singh Behl who was arrested last year by NIA in terror funding case, has been detained under Public Safety Act (PSA) for provocative speeches in public meeting” at Nowshera area of Rajouri district on Sunday.

The order to detain Behl under PSA was issued today by Rajouri district magistrate on the basis of a dossier submitted to him by the police, said SSP Rajouri, Yougal Manhas.

Reports said that Behl, who is chairman J&K Social Peace Forum (JKSRF) and an advocate by profession, had issued a call “Mirpur Kotli Chalo’ during the ongoing agitation for district status in Nowshera area.

“We have detained Behl under Public Safety Act (PSA) for his attempts to instigate people in Nowshera by making provocative statements aimed at challenging the territorial integrity of the country and deteriorating the public order,” said Rajouri SSP Yougal Manhas.
