New Delhi: Indian men’s hockey team midfielder Vivek Sagar Prasad rued the chance of playing the Final against Australia in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games as he suffered a knee injury ahead of the title clash.

The Indian Team settled for a Silver medal at the prestigious Games after losing 0-7 to Australia. “I was devastated to miss the Commonwealth Games final against Australia. Making the Final of such a prestigious tournament is a big deal for any player. Having played a good campaign to reach the Final and then being ruled out of the summit clash due to injury was devastating for me,” Vivek Sagar Prasad said.
“I really wanted to be there for my team on that particular day. However, this happens in sports. So, the only thing we can do now is to move on,” he added.

This was Vivek Sagar’s second outing at the Commonwealth Games. In 2018, at the Gold Coast CWG, Vivek was the youngest player on the squad. While it was an exciting outing for him as a 17-year-old, the team returned home without a medal.

“The CWG in 2018 was my first experience of a multi-discipline sporting event. I was quite young and really excited. But it was a disappointing outing for us as a team. This time, we were adamant about a good show but again, things did not go as planned in the Final,” he said.

Having rested over the past few weeks, Vivek is all set to join his compatriots on Monday, when the National Camp commences in SAI, Bengaluru.

He said, “it was just a minor injury. Having rested well over the past weeks, I am eager to join my teammates in camp and begin our preparations for the Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 to be held in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela in January. I am sure the team’s support staff will assess my recovery once I join the camp basis which they will plan my workload.”

Arvind Kejriwal Says, “BJP Is A Serial Killer Of Government”

Mumbai: Today, Arvind Kejriwal referred to the BJP as a “serial killer of governments” and declared that he wanted to stand up for a trust vote solely to demonstrate that the party had failed to recruit even a single Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA.
On Monday, the Delhi Assembly will hear a motion of confidence from the AAP government, according to sources.

“I want to bring a confidence motion to show that the BJP has not been able to break away a single MLA,” Arvind Kejriwal said, addressing a special session of the Delhi assembly.

The AAP has called the meeting to talk about what it claims is the BJP’s “Operation Lotus” in Delhi, which aims to overthrow the Arvind Kejriwal administration, as well as the investigations into its leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who has been charged with corruption in the Delhi liquor policy.

According to Mr. Sisodia, the BJP offered to remove the charges against him provided he switched parties.

“The CBI tried everything but not even 25 paise was found at (Mr Sisodia’s) home. The next day a BJP leader approached Manish and said that we’ll make you the Chief Minister and give you 20 crore each to break away from AAP. Manish rejected it and BJP tried to reach out to other MLAs. Each of my MLAs is a diamond – they can’t be bought,” Mr Kejriwal said.

In a show of its strength yesterday, Kejriwal call a meeting of MLAs at his house; 53 of the 62 AAP MLAs showed up, and he said the remaining nine were there.

Each of my MLAs is a diamond – they can’t be bought,” said Kejriwal.

According to AAP, the BJP has promised each of its 40 MLAs 20 crore in an effort to lure them away from the party.

“The BJP has dismantled several governments and now they have turned toward Delhi. There is a serial killer of governments in our country. The pattern is the same,” Mr Kejriwal said.

The Delhi Chief Minister charged that the BJP has just bought 277 MLAs to overthrow opposition governments.

“277 MLAs have been bought by BJP in recent years, ₹ 5,500 crore has been spent by the BJP in operation lotus, ₹ 800 crore has been kept for Delhi,” he charged.

Mr Kejriwal questioned how the BJP had the money to buy MLAs.

“All the money coming from costly oil, fuel, basic necessities is being used for buying MLAs. All this money from GST (Goods and Services Tax) and inflation is being spent for two things – buying MLAs and to write off loans of billionaire friends of the government,” said Arvind Kejriwal.
