Trump Announces PM Modi Likely To Visit US In February

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the United States in February, US President Donald Trump said on Monday.

Trump told news agency Reuters, “PM Modi will visit the US sometime in February.”

The announcement came after President Trump and Prime Minister Modi held their first phone call since Trump became President for a second term on January 20. The call took place amid reports that both sides were working to arrange an early meeting between the two leaders.

On the question of illegal immigration, President Trump said that India will do what is right. Trump’s focus on tackling illegal immigration has been a key theme of his political agenda, contributing significantly to his re-election campaign.

Six people died and 50 were injured today after a stage collapsed at an event in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat.

The incident took place at ‘Nirvana Laddu Parv’ of the first Tirthankara in Jainism, Bhagwan Adinath, in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat on Tuesday.

Relief operations are underway to rescue those trapped in the makeshift stage.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered local authorities to relieve the injured immediately.

SP Arpit Vijayvargiya told news agency ANI, “As per the information coming in, about 20-25 people were injured. Some had general injuries and received first aid before being sent home. 2-3 people are seriously injured and undergoing treatment in nearby hospitals,”.
