Sharad Pawar Disbands All NCP Departments Post Collapse of MVA

All national-level units of the NCP are dissolved weeks after the collapse of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra.

Mumbai: The president of NCP Sharad Pawar has dissolved all his political party’s units with its ally, announced a senior NCP leader on Wednesday. He said that instantly, all the departments and cells of NCP at the national level will be dismissed. This comes post three weeks after the fall of MVA government in the state of Maharashtra.

The general secretary of the Nationalist Congress Party took this to Twitter and tweeted, “With the approval of our national president, Nationalist Congress Party, Sharad Pawar, all departments and cells stand dissolved with immediate effect.”

Though, the reason for this unexpected decision is not revealed yet. Sanjay Raut, a Shiv Sena MP, was blamed by Union minister Ramdas Athawale on Wednesday for the split within the Sena because he insisted on a coalition with the NCP. “Shiv Sena was broken by Sanjay Raut, not Sharad Pawar. Only at Sanjay Raut’s request, Uddhav Thackeray decided to join the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) “,  said Athawale.  According to Athawale, Maha Vikas Aghadi would never have been formed if NCP and Shiv Sena  had not come together , which would have prevented the formation of a BJP and Shiv Sena administration in Maharashtra.

The Shiv Sena-led coalition government included the NCP as a major partner, its government fell late in June after the the rebel leader of Shiv Sena , Eknath Shinde with many MPs left Senaand  formed the Shinde-BJP government with Eknath-Shinde being the CM.
