Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao: 56% spent on publicity

A recent report on scroll says that More than 56% of the funds for the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” scheme have been allocated for media-related activities since 2014-’15, with less than 25% being distributed to states and districts. Which means more has been spent on advertising the project than on raising the awareness that was the core aim of the scheme. With such kind of publicity what good will come of this campaign? Mr Sujit Nair, Managing Editor of HW News Network, shares his insights on the matter.
