The border tension between the two north-eastern states of Assam and Mizoram have flared up since the violent clash between the police of the two states last Monday. Even after the Centre’s intervention, the border remains tensed and the two states have not yet come to a resolution to end the conflict. In the latest, Assam govt issued an advisory in which it asked the people of Assam to not travel to Mizoram as any threat to their personal safety cannot be accepted. The advisory reads, “”Even after this incident, certain Mizo civil society, students and youth organisations are constantly issuing provocative statements against the state of Assam and its people. It has been reliably learnt from video footage available with Assam Police, that many civilians are heavily armed with automatic weapons etc,”” the advisory read.
