Babri Mosque Demolition Not A Planned Conspiracy, Says Court, All Accused Acquitted

Almost 28 years after the Babri Masjid demolition that changed the country’s politics in many ways, the verdict in the case has acquitted all the accused. Reading out the 2000 page verdict, the special CBI judge acquitted all the 32 accused and said that the demolition on December 6, 1992, was not planned. Thereby the court acquitted all the 32 accused including top BJP leaders LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharati. Uma Bharati had tested positive for COVID-19 so she stayed away from the verdict whereas Joshi and Advani cited the concerns related to age and health. However, as many as 26 accused in the case were present in the Special CBI court in Lucknow when the verdict was being delivered.
